Business Overview
- Client can deliver this working solution that is based on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) that demonstrates the conceptual user journeys created. The journey begins with the growing of the coffee beans to the processing, storage and transportation of it to the coffee retailer. It ends with the consumer interacting digitally with the packaging solution that educates, provides social media interaction with peers and rewards the farmers for sustainability and feedback.
Challenges
- The cloud-based multi-platforms application accessible via desktop, tablet & mobile
- The deployment of Internet-of-Things (IoT) sensors on farms to enhance the collection of provenance data. There are thousands sensors on farms sending huge amount of raw data
- The use of digital markers to help provide track and trace
- The implementation of consumer technology to close the loop between them and the supply chain

Technical stacks
- IoT (sensor & micro controller) development with Arduino & Raspberry Pi, implementing Mesh Network over RF 2.4GHz
- Handle millions IoT messages (MQTT) with Google Products (Cloud IoT Core, Cloud Pub/Sub), aggregate data using Cloud Dataflow then store into Cloud BigTable.
- Another aggregation layer using BigQuery to better performance
- App Engine to seamless hosted API for Admin Dashboard App
- Firebase & Cloud Functions are employed to simplify the mobile app development and utilize some modern techniques such as Realtime Database, Firebase Predictions, Cloud Messaging and Remote Configs.
